If you ARE using an external HD, or you've imported music from a partition of your internal drive, your crate info will be stored in the _Serato_/Subcrates and in the _Serato_BACKUP/Subcrates folders that are on the root of the external or partition.
If you’re missing crates inside the Scratch Live program the first place to check is your trash can/recycle bin.
Note: Before making any changes to the _Serato_ folders make sure Scratch Live is completely shut down.
If you see the .crate files in the trash, and you've imported your files from your internal drive, highlight them and put them back into the C:/Music/_Serato_/Subcrates folder on a Windows machine OR in the MAC HD/Users/Music/_Serato_/Subcrates folder on a MAC.
After putting the crates back into their proper place open the Scratch Live program and you should see the crates pop up in the crate section of Scratch Live.
If you don't see the crates, if they are empty, or they do not contain all of the music files those crate files are corrupt and are useless.
If you've imported your music from your internal drive go to C:/Music/ folder on Windows or MAC HD/Users/Music/ on MAC.

Open the Subcrates folder.

Backing up your crate files
The _Serato_ and _Serato_backup folders are very important. It's a good idea to copy these folders to a safe location on your Desktop, another hard drive, or someplace they will not get lost/deleted. We also suggest renaming these folders with the date that you copied them.

For example: _Serato_01/15/2012 and _Serato_BACKUP 01/15/2012. This way you know the date they were backed up and you will always have good copies of your crate files in the case that the recycle bin/trash or the _Serato_backup folder(s) do not have “good” crates.
